About Us
Red Wagon Farm is run by Wyatt Barnes and Amy Tisdale. They have been farming together since 2004. They have two farm locations in Boulder County: one in east Boulder on Valmont Road and the other just north of Boulder near Niwot. Prior to 2018 they were a long time, beloved vendor at the Boulder County Farmers Markets Boulder Saturday on street markets, with a large 30 foot booth. They now sell vegetables via their CSA, to local restaurants and to the curbside pickup market of Boulder County Farmers Markets.
They believe in growing local food for local people. They state that the vegetables they sell are the freshest possible, and that they are helping to support an important local food system. They believe that we should not be dependent on vegetables grown hundreds or thousands of miles away. Because their produce is sold locally, they use a minimum amount of energy for transportation costs.

Practices
They love to grow unusual varieties, but taste is always their top priority. Every season they trial new varieties and look for vegetables that have superior flavor. This may mean unusual heirlooms or mainstream standard varieties.
They strive to have a sustainable farm, and to them this means many things. It means using their land, water, and other resources in a responsible way. They farm in a manner that is sustainable for the land and also provides wildlife habitat. They also strive to have a farm that is economically sustainable; this is the only way the farm will continue to operate year after year. That means paying their workers a fair wage and putting money back into the local community.
